Public spaces are vital to human interaction. Show examples of current designers that have redefined the idea of public spaces and explain how these space can create more meaningful sense os place for a person as well as relationship to that place.
A public space is a space that is generally accessible to people and let human connect each other. Examples of a public spaces include parks, airport, market places, public building and shopping malls. Characteristics of a Great Public Space include 8 major identity. Which promotes human contact and social activities, welcoming and accommodating for all users, has design architectural features that are visually interesting, promotes community involvement, reflects the local culture or history, relates the local culture and history, relates well to bordering uses, that space is well maintained and has a unique or special character.

One of the example of public space is Battersea Power Station Malaysia Square by BIG Architect. This building is located in London, UK and status is in progress. This project inspired by Malaysia's landscape and geology, the development company describes the form of the square as reminiscent of the caves found in Gunung Mulu National Park in Sarawak, East Malaysia. This project basically brings the Malaysia culture all the way to another country. This will be a very good step in enhancing human interaction by using public spaces.
"Situated at the very foot of the towering Battersea icon, the new Malaysia Square derives its shape from human flows, creating a cascading landscape carved into the street or simply put form follows flow," describes Bjarke Ingels. "As an urban canvas of possibilities for cultural expression, where landscape, architecture, urbanism and media design are in complete harmony, the new Malaysia Square lends dignity to the majestic industrial heritage while paving the way for a new Malaysia identity." “The innovative and thoughtful concepts underlying the creation of Malaysia Square honours the heritage and shared history of two nations to form a vibrant and exciting public space for residents and visitors to meet, mingle and shape the future together," said Tan Sri Liew Kee Sin, the Chairman of the Battersea Project Holding Company.

This public space is meaningful for the nation relationship between Malaysia and UK, as a Malaysian, I am so proud which this space showing the culture and nature about Malaysia identity.

Another example is a new bridge in Skuru, Sweden by Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). The concept of BIG has presented an innovative structure with the aim to create a symbiotic relationship between infrastructure and nature. This space serves as a green pedestrian walkway filled with vegetation and creates an uninterrupted flow of parkland from one shore bank to the other. According to BIG, “Skuru Park bridge represents a new form of social infrastructure which is not only aesthetic and environmentally well-integrated with the existing bridge and the natural landscape but is also socially activating by creating a place and park for the people who live and work on both sides of the strait.” This public space shows the connection between human and nature and culture activity.
