Assignment 01: Jurassic World

Jurassic World is a 2015 American science fiction adventure film and the fourth installment of the Jurassic Park series. After the Jurassic Park, Jurassic World takes place on the same fictional island of Isla Nublar, off the Pacific coast of Central America, where a fully functioning dinosaur theme park has operated for ten years. The park plunges into chaos when a genetically modified dinosaur, Indominus rex, breaks loose and goes on a rampage across the island. Jurassic World is a big, shiny, and entertaining roller coaster ride, though the ‘World’ is more interesting than the people (If put aside the plot).

In this film's story, Jurassic world being repaired due to human's curious, kids and teenagers looking for unadulterated entertainment or to avoid extinction, maybe. However, they becomes dissatisfy. The dinosaur was like meant to embody humanity's worst tendencies just like nowadays, we're surrounded by wonder and yet we want more, and we want it bigger, faster, louder, better. And I knew that in the world of the movie, the animal is designed based on a series of corporate focus groups. This is the setting part that most inspired and surprised me when I was watching this movie. There's something in the film about our greed and our desire for profit. Human being nowadays was onto the screen by using another way to display. I learnt that, architecture is not just about building. It's include human being, and, it could differentiate into dailylife, characteristic, culture and so on.

And of course I learnt that architecture should build based on location and the users. A part of the scene in this movie has makes me felt that. The image below: A place that used to trapped the dinasaur. ( Although the dinasaur has escaped.)

I'm curious about the world created in the film because of the realistic and the visual effects, such as explosion and the scenes inside the movie such as the buildings or the places in the park, the auto-transportation, or even the abandoned huts, and of couse the dinosaur.

Besides, this film has shows combination of technologies and the nature environments.

The futuristic design coordinate with the gigantic creatures become one of the most eye-catching part of this movie. However, most of the advanced technologies was designed for the people, not the creatures. It seem less of the concern about the needs of the natural creatures. It absolutely reflex the phenomena of the people nowaday who use the benefits and conviniences of the advanced technologies on incorrect way. Human has no right to lock the creatures with the technologies, but giving them a better environment.

In this story, there are three of the dinasaur helps people (the male lead). They could communicate with each other although there are language barrier between on it. They should not too depends on the technologies, but learn to understand them. So that the disaster would not happen, which the natural features escape out and attack the people.
