What is the future of architecture in an age where everything is in the palm of your hands? Will architecture still be relevant, if yes, how? And would it need to be evolved? If yes, how? Show examples of the current ideas.

Design is always changing from the past to the future, and with the technology and design is increasingly aligning, the new generation of architects are arguably headed to the most radical period of change in design history.

In my opinion, architecture will always be relevant in the future. Today, form follow function is the best theory of architecture, because this will give a space a meaning and definition rather than just an empty space. Form follow function is a principle that the shape of building or object should be primarily based upon its intended function or purpose. For example, an office building has many spaces that serving certain function in to the building, such as working area, bathroom, meeting room, cafeteria and so on, this is one of the example of the form follow function. In other word, functionality is more important than ornamentation, it is because the functionality bring the comfort to the people. And today, most people desired comfort spaces rather than just an aesthetic space or building that serve without any function.

This is a very strong point from the theory form follow function, however it should be evolved and enhance. Now, how are we going to do that? We can evolve and enhance by applying space within the space or let the people make fun with the space. In the theory of space within the space can make the space serve more function rather than just a simple function. For example, a classroom is just an empty space to occupy a bunch of student but it can be made more beneficial if there is a small library or reading session with comfortable furniture in it. In another example, everyone will feel tired when they work, so we can create a leisure space within the working space to let the people feel more comfortable and relax during work. A good example that show about this is Google. Google having a very good space within the space design and it serve the function together. For example a working area that have the interior playground so that when the people feel tired when worked, they can have fun at the playground.

Based on the above evidence we know that a space serving a function is more meaningful and expressive than a space than cover by the ornamentation. In my opinion, sustainable are the traits that architecture of the future will share, if we go by the trends of more functionality of building design.
