Electrification takes command, lectures by Bart Lootsma which is an architect in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He studied architecture at the Eindhoven University of Technology during 1975-1984. He is a historian, critic, and curator in the fields of architecture, design, and fine arts. He holds the chair for architectural theory at the Leopold-Franzens University of Innsbruck and is also professor at the Institute for History, Theory and Critic in Architecture at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna.
In this lecture, Architect Bart Lootsma has talking about the elements of architecture, shows how the elements of building such as wall, floor, ceiling, window, door, lock, fireplace and so on, under influence of computing and the Internet slowly evolve to develop a memory and maybe even primitive forms of intelligence. This development is presented as a kind of collective strive, which remains forever unachieved or unfulfilled: a fragmentary universe of very concrete pieces of a Utopia or Dystopia we have forgotten to formulate, think through and evaluate.
The studio work also will think through the architectural and urban implications of phenomena like pervasive computing, robotics and the Internet of things. They will investigate both the implications for organization and for aesthetics. It means that they will develop what the great historian and theoretician Manfredo Tafuri called operative criticism, as an analysis of architecture that, instead of an abstract survey, has as its objective the planning of a precise poetical tendency, anticipated by its structures and derived from historical analyses. Tafuri was opposed to operative criticism, as it programmatically distorts historical analyses.
He says the studio will therefore be speculative, maybe even bordering on paranoia or science fiction, but always based on real tendencies. The studio will be dedicated to making the technologies and devices that hidden in architectural elements or wireless which invisible by nature to become visible and communicating their nature to a larger audience.
Actually, I believed that everyone knows that electrification takes command in the future of design world but not understanding deeply. Thus, Architect Bart Lootsma is talking about HOW the electrification takes command in the future of design world and the development of technology from the past until now with involved into architecture.

And there is a topic that interested me, which is architectural relationship with natural experiments in ecology. I think the idea is quite similar with Le Corbusier's ecology, and also Frank Lloyd Wright which is about the relationship between nature, ecology and architecture.
I think one of the example to show it is Bergisel Ski Jump by Zaha Hadid. Using the geographical advantages to create a new activity, showing the environment condition change and suggesting the importance of context to both natural and built communities.
This architecture always appear on the screen (movie), like Eddie the Eagle which talking about ski activities will be coming soon in this year too.
With the current lecture, I am more understanding about the important of combines the visual language of architectural cross section and analytical approach borrow from the ecology. And also the development of tecnology with architecture will play an important role to create the essence within different functions with different spaces in the future. In addition, I had learnt about using the geographical to turn it to an advantage and enchance it to be a better element.
