Each member is required to write about 1 community architecture that has made a significant change.
Community architecture can be defined as community planning, community development, community technical aid, and community landscaping. Architects and planners have found creative ways to serve community organizations and distressed urban and rural regions throughout the country and it can be as simple as a free space for people to gather. Community architecture is concern about the importance of user involvement in the design, construction and management of the environment.
There are many types of building that related to community architecture. For instance, community center, sport complex, garden/ park, open space, restaurant, airport and public walkway. Gymnasium center also one of the community architecture that allows people to carry out sport activities and communicate with each other.

BIG conceived a large multifunctional space that could be used for sports, graduation ceremonies and social events. The landscaping area within the existing courtyard.
The new hall comprises a sunken space below the ground in the center of the school’s courtyard, ensuring a good indoor climate, low environmental impact and high architectural quality. A comfortable space that suitable for the student to gather and playing games. Through sports and games, they can easily know each other which from different courses or different background (professor/ lecturer).
The accessible hilly courtyard creates a dynamic area for social gatherings and informal meeting place that can host numerous activities from group work to larger gatherings even graduation ceremonies. Besides, it also acting as a large hilly schoolyard designed with a “molehill” peak.
The designer highlight the seating area and mini skate park with tiny LED lights beneath and unfortunately lighting up the entire schoolyard to keep it lively during night time.
The edge of the roof is designed as a long social bench, its lattice design ensures the penetration of daylight below and allows people to seat along.
Though seemingly unrelated to community development, sports opens avenues of communication between people of all levels of society and background, and allows at-risk populations an avenue of safety. One of the key links between sports and community development is the opportunity for students from different courses to meet on a common gymnasium and schoolyard. In a school sports team, for instance, professor or lecturer may mix with student on an equal level, allowing each to get to know the other as an individual and a teammate. Families from different racial and economic backgrounds may be brought together with a common goal of cheering on each other at an intramural sports event. By learning to view other coursemate as teammates and fellow sports enthusiasts, sports can bolster the level of connection people feel to their town or city. By connecting sports and community development, a town can help promote a healthier life for its population. Besides, sports programs for young people can play an important role in preventing crime, gang activity, and drug abuse while promoting the values of sportsmanship.
PERSONAL.PERSPECTIVE
Gammel Hellerup Gymnasium is a good example that shows community architecture that made a significant change for the entire school. The roof gives students and staff an imaginative place to walk, run and be active. Below ground, students engage in activities such as basketball and handball. On the other hand, the curves in the roof along with the varying heights of the curve serve as places for social gathering and the roof are set to allow for seating. Social conscience is important for everyone. Therefor, we have to being aware what is happening to improve our living quality and condition of life. Can you imaging that you are living in a cities or studying at a place without any community space? Social interaction is neccessary to allow us to be communicate with each other and be more concern about the neighboring issue and problems.
