Pick 1 building in Kuala Lumpur, visit it, and document how that building perfectly plays with 1 or more human senses.
The Arc at Bandar Rimbayu, The Community Centre in Malaysia by Garis Architects

The Arc was designed by local studio Garis Architects in a park in Selangor. The design addresses the sunlight, heat, humidity, and rain of the tropical climate.
"At the most fundamental level, it provides shelter for community activities – the place for regular living amenity, social and recreational activities, communal and sports events," said the architects.
The Arc is designed to be a living and evolving education showcase of sustainable approach. Each sustainable solution is created different human senses and experiences.
The Sense of Sight and Touch :
The architect blend the concrete structure and nature together, created an iconic facade and linked human activity interact with nature.
A curtain of fronds that sprout from planting on the green roof hangs along the edge of the covered area, providing shade from the sun. In this building, the sense of touch is not only focus on materials of building, which are also focus on nature. By touching the grasses and plants can create the feeling of peace in our soul, because plants are a life which combine with an inanimation concrete structure and let the soul of building alive.
The sheltered area is also used to host community festivals, food stalls and shops.
Besides the function of shading, which also enhance the interaction between human activity and nature. From the photo above showing that the light and shadow create by nature and which means that nature are protecting and supporting human activity.
The Sense of Smell and Sound:
"The roof solution responds to the desire to keep itself and the space below cool by sustainable means: insulating with soil and greenery," explained the design team. "In doing so it effectively replaces the original greenery at ground level with an new eco-system on an elevated deck."
The sense of smell and sound is also created by nature environment. After closing your eyes in the building, the sense of smell and sound will be enhanced, u can smell and hear the sound of grass on the ground, the water in the lake, the leaves at the trees and the air from the wind. A sense of peace.
This building is totally connected with the power of nature, and we can use our 5 senses to feel the nature. The senses which created by the architects in this building is almost similar to the forest, which are suitable for community activity such as recreational activities.
Imagine that from your first steps into the forest, your entire body feels changed. You feel the gentle breeze on your skin and the trail under your feet. You breathe in and notice the clean, fresh air with the familiar smell of the forest that is sometimes punctuated with the odors of specific plants you pass, like a fragrant flower. After a long hike, you feel recharged, it is because the power of the nature. Nature is good for human.
As a architecture students, we should learn and able to design a building by using human 5 senses. Every senses is importance and will create different experience for human activity.
